Outdoor Product and Lifestyle Photography in Cambridgeshire

Here’s a small range of product and lifestyle photography from a shoot for a client promoting some of their new and existing products.
The brief was to capture a range of lifestyle product photographs with a couple of great models on location in and around Cambridge.

On Location – Product and Lifestyle Photographs

For the first part of the photo shoot we arrived at some disused buildings to take a range of shots of the headphones against the peeling paintwork. Given it was October and there was no glass in the windows and the doors seldom closed, the wind blowing through the location was a little chilly to say the least.

The contrast of the wall colours and those of the headphones really stood out in some shots.

There’s something about photographers, professional or amateur and the draw of disused buildings. The two just go together. As you see they make a great location for shooting product and fashion photography. Peeling paintwork is just a lovely background effect. When it stays on the wall that is !

We then created a short range of close up product photographs. These show some of the details, ideal for catalogue and web photos, but more interesting than against a white background.

We then moved into Cambridge and one of the local parks to take some more of the product photographs but with a summer feel. Not always the easiest thing in the cold Autumn weather and given the models were in t-shirts we were all wrapped up in our coats. The sun was setting fast and so it was a little bit of a rush to set up the models, unpack the products and get the range of lifestyle photos done before the sun went down.

Whilst this looks like a comfortable and relaxing time on a warm summers afternoon, it was in fact freezing cold and a bit of running about managed to keep the goose-bumps out of the photographs. Those thinking modelling for photographs is all catwalk and champagne need think again. Outdoor and Location photography is needed all year round.

The final range of photographs showed the products in detail, but have a lifestyle flair about them.

Product Photographs on a white background.

Product photographs taken on a white background are probably my number one request. They feature in just about every website and catalogue where the product needs to stand out on a plain background. Product photographs on a white background  also make a designers job easier, as they will blend into a website using white as its main background colour such that you can’t see the edges of the photo itself.  You can tell when a high quality design and good photographs have been used as you can’t see a grey, yellow, or magenta colour cast as the so called white photo background doesn’t match the background of the page.

Most of the products on white backgrounds tend to be small and can easily be undertaken in our Cambridge based photo studio. We have a drop-off and pick-up facility available, whereby you can just deliver your products to us, we’ll photograph them on the white background and upload your images where you can download at your leisure and then pick up your products when you next drop by. We regularly photograph, household goods, food, jewellery, luxury goods and  clothing against a white background. Though we have moved studios to photograph larger items, for this we needed a bigger studio and a bigger white background. Its not that many places that can fit in over a hundred elephants !!

Models, Make-up Artists, Hair and Fashion Stylists – Adding a photographer to your Cambridge Creative Network

I’m always on the look out for other creatives and to expand my local cambridge creative network. Not that it excludes creatives further afield I should point out.

I confess I’d not heard of this marketing phrase before, but I certainly understand it in terms of photographing products for advertising.

Fashion and Clothing Photography – Cambridge, London, The Midlands and the South East

Here’s a few fashion photography clothing shots. The brief was to give a fashion catalogue view of the garment and then show some details. Unusually in the brief was that the main image wasn’t to show the whole garment.

Fashion shots like these are regularly used for online fashion stores and clothing catalogues. I also provide fashion photographs and packshots where garments are worn by models or placed on mannequins.

I also provide fashion lifestyle photography showing clothing collections worn in the style and location of your target clients. This ranges from the exclusive location for high class fashions, to the town and country locations of high street names.
